Hezbollah stated it holds Israel “entirely accountable” for explosions across Lebanon, which killed at least nine people and injured 2,750 others, including a young girl. At least 200 of the injured are in critical condition.
Israel opted not to comment on the blasts. The simultaneous explosions occurred less than 24 hours after the Israeli cabinet broadened objectives for the conflict in Gaza to include returning residents displaced by Hezbollah’s assaults in northern Israel to their homes.
In the Gaza Strip, at least eight Palestinians were killed and 80 more were feared dead under the rubble following an Israeli strike on the Bureij refugee camp. Medics reported that at least 22 people were killed in Israeli attacks across the enclave on Tuesday.
At least 41,252 people have died and 95,497 have been injured in Israel’s conflict with Gaza. In Israel, the death toll from the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 stands at least at 1,139, while more than 200 individuals were taken captive.
